In 1998, upon graduation, he left for San Diego, U.S.A., for a one-year agricultural training program. While in the U.S., Mr. Shimoda invited him to Bonita Japanese Bible Church in San Diego, where he encountered Jesus Christ and became a Christian. 1999, he was baptized by missionary Nakamura of the same church. His experience at that time inspired him to become a missionary to the Japanese in San Diego.

After returning to Japan, he worked for a company for four years and then studied the Bible at Revival Bible Seminary (one year) and Japan Bible Seminary (four years).

In 2008, he received a call to serve as a Japanese missionary in San Diego, which had been on his mind for some time, and sought a way to come to the U.S. However, the impact of SARS and visa problems blocked his way.

From 2008-2010, he served in various churches in Japan, and from 2011-2014, he was involved in the pioneer mission of "Kinomi Christ Church" in Yamagata City, Japan.

In 2015, Hideyoshi Kashiwagura and Haruka Kashiwagura established the Overseas Japanese Mission Supporters Association. Since then, he has been engaged in overseas Japanese missionary work at the Japanese Church in Melbourne, Australia, receiving support from this support group, until 2019. Many new believers were given to the church through his work there. In 2019, he will return to Japan after 4 years of ministry in Australia.

In 2020, he was led again to San Diego and began preparations. Although severely affected by the coronavirus, in March 2021 he was led to the Missions Door mission in the U.S. to become an international missionary; currently preparing to be sent there in 2022-23; in 2023 he will be sent to the U.S. to serve as an international missionary; in 2023 he will be sent to the U.S. to serve as a missionary to the U.S.
